FLORIST ON WHEELS
Vadodara | April 2021 | Conceptual Retail Design
To design a 'Retail on the Go' truck for a florist by creating a name for it and designing a truck from scratch by customising the form of it and designing a space in it specially for the florist and the customers to view the flowers and give them a great customer experience despite being on a vehicle and being spacially challenging.
DESIGN CONCEPT
A florist truck named 'Fresh Florets' is designed keeping in mind the ergonomics of a florist and creating a space inside a pickup truck which is suitable for his working style. A cube matric is created by making models which have different ways and styles of opening up. Amalgamation of 2 models helped to create a form which is suitable for a florist truck. Zoning of the plan is done and the 2D drawings are made. Fabric roller shutters are used to open up the back and side of the truck after which a part of the truck slices out and the flap opens up into a bouquet display. The roof also slides out to provide shade to the customers and the flowers. The workspace for the florist is given at the back along with a storage for his tools and a paper roll on top to wrap flowers, display boxes for individual flowers, and an extra storage for other miscellaneous items. Everything is moveable so that it is easier for the florist to work in a tight space. The customer can stand on the side of the truck from where he/she could look, smell, and feel the individual flowers and the bouquets easily while also giving instructions to the florist.
