THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME
Carne Studio LAMDA | January 2024 | Conceptual Performance Design Project
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time play tells the story of 15-year-old Christopher Boone, an autistic boy with a mathematical aptitude, who investigates the murder of his neighbor's dog, Wellington. His investigation leads him on a journey that reveals secrets about his family and challenges his understanding of the world."
DESIGN CONCEPT
The inspiration behind the concept was the Suspect board as the protagonist in the story is investigating the death of his neighbor's dog which leads the story into a mysterious one where he finds secrets and clues about the murderer. The aim of the design was to make the set look like a crime scene and a live suspect board with a red string in Christopher's hand as he unravels the mystery. A flat made of metal wire on wheels is created for different locations which can be brought in and out whenever wanted by Christopher almost looking like he is changing the pictures on his suspect board and working on it.
